So. It's Sunday. Which means the winding down of another weekend - preparing for the week ahead, and watching sleeting rain falling outside and dreading tomorrow. What better way to ease into the week then with some of those songs & videos that make these cold nights in December feel just a little bit warmer. This video from Field Report went up earlier this week, and it's a really wonderful, gritty version of one of my favorite songs on their album from earlier this year.
I can't even begin to express how excited I am for this new Local Natives album - and this video of them doing "Breakers" by some water is absolutely gorgeous.
Gregory Alan Isakov covering John Hartford. Also by some water. (I miss spending time next to bodies of water. Can you tell?)
Also, I went and saw Spirit Family Reunion at Schuba's last night. That was two hours of whiskey drinkin', stompin', clappin', and singing along at the top of our lungs. If you get a chance to see these guys live, you really should go. Seriously.
Well - good luck tomorrow. Mondays suck. But watch these videos, go back and take another listen to the winter mix, and hopefully you can keep your head up - Christmas is coming!
